Fees for Visits and Herbs
Initial Visit: $150. The initial visit focuses on health assessment, diagnosis of presenting problems and identifying a treatment plan. A simple four-page questionnaire is filled out to assist in this process. An acupuncture treatment is included, if indicated. Alternative techniques, such as moxibustion, may be included or substituted. Generally, plan on an hour to an hour and a half for the initial visit.
Follow-up Visits: $115. These visits are used to assess and discuss progress and provide additional treatment. Generally an hour is set aside for a follow-up visit. Former patients returning with new problems are generally charged at a follow-up visit rate.
Pattern Herbs: Chinese herbs may be part of your treatment plan. The cost of herbs, if prescribed, is not included in the visit fee. Herbs come in two general forms: pattern and raw. Pattern herbs are based on classical Chinese formulas and come in pill form. The cost of pattern herbs varies by type.
Raw Herbs: $40. (1 week supply) East Care maintains a full pharmacy of over 200 Chinese raw herbs. These herbs can be combined for a prescription tailored to a patient’s specific needs. These herbs are generally prepared at the time of your visit.
Follow-up Raw Herb Consultations: $95. These visits include an assessment of progress, adjustment and preparation of herbal prescriptions. There is no consultation charge if the herb consultation occurs as part of a regular appointment.
Follow-up Pattern Herb Consultations: $95. These visits include an assessment of progress with an adjustment of the herbal prescription if indicated. There is no consultation charge if it ours as part of a regular appointment.
Note: Home visits and visits requiring treatments of advanced complexity, more intensive care, and/or significantly more time than normal may involve increased charges.
Insurance and Payment Policies

Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.
East Care accepts payment by credit card, debit card, cash or check drawn on a local bank. A five dollar discount will be given on cash and check payments.
Many, but not all, insurance plans are now including coverage for acupuncture treatment. Insurance billing is the responsibility of the patient. A coded bill is provided to facilitate your insurance reimbursement. Please instruct your insurance company to provide reimbursement directly to you.
